What to do after a low citizenship practice score
A low score gives you a starting point for review. Take time to understand what you missed before trying again.
Your practice score is not an official test result and does not predict whether you will pass. This is an independent study resource, not affiliated with IRCC. Its questions are not official test questions.
1. Find the topics to review
Review the questions you missed and read their explanations. Note recurring topics, such as government, history or rights and responsibilities. Pick one topic at a time instead of starting everything over.
2. Return to the free official guide
Consult Discover Canada, IRCC’s free official study guide. IRCC says the official test questions are based on this guide. Find the chapter covering a missed topic, read it, then explain its main ideas in your own words.
3. Check what you remember
Try a chapter practice test without your notes. Read the explanations even when your answer is right. Go back to the official guide if a point is still unclear.

4. Try again when ready
Retry the free diagnostic after reviewing to see which topics still need attention. Compare the topics you missed rather than treating one score as a verdict.
